Jan’s animal passion and dedication for animals began during her childhood days. Her late mother Wanuza was an animal rights activist and taught her children to protect, respect and care for every living things. Throughout the years, Wanuza rescued and fostered various animals in her home in Brazil including dogs, cats, roosters, chickens, rabbits, ducks, frogs, and snakes.
Jan’s goal is to continue her late mother’s legacy and provide the best possible care to all pets unconditionally.
Our History
Jan Rivero, founder and owner of Jan’s Dog House and Canine Wellness Center, has been a dog groomer for over 10 years and is certified by the New York School of Dog Grooming (’07). Jan’s connection and engagement with her clients throughout the years with caring, honest and trustworthy service helped her build a big network of clients mostly referred by word of mouth. Her clients' loyalty to Jan’s Dog House has helped her establish a strong and solid reputation.
